PRICING A clear ownership model
Own the hardware.
Subscribe to the platform.
Arcanus separates the things you should own from the services that
keep improving. The portable workspace is purchased once. Platform
access can be paid monthly or annually.

04 Pricing principles
The model should reflect the architecture.
01Ownership is visible.
The customer purchases the physical workspace. Subscription does not turn the Vault into rented storage.
02Recurring value is maintained.
Subscriptions support the platform, updates, compatibility and continuing product development.
03Modules stay composable.
Practice, Customs, Ledger and Commerce can be enabled around the organisation instead of forced into one edition.
04Annual should reward commitment.
Monthly keeps the entry flexible; annual billing provides the strongest effective rate.
05 Before exact prices
The questions that set the figures.
These are the commercial decisions to settle during early access.
What should the upfront purchase include?+
The current model includes the Arcanus XFCE + Core drive, Arcanum Vault, secure provisioning and initial recovery configuration. Packaging, replacement cover and onboarding can be priced once production costs are known.
Should modules be per user or per organisation?+
That remains open. Organisation pricing is simpler and fits shared business capability; user bands may be fairer where support and usage scale materially with team size.
What happens if a subscription ends?+
The final policy should preserve the customer's ownership of the Vault while clearly defining which maintained Platform services, updates and modules remain active. This commitment should be explicit before the first sale.
How should Portal be priced?+
Portal is separate hardware. It can be sold outright, supplied with a support plan or quoted as a managed fleet depending on the final device and service model.
